A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia has gone to court to challenge the invitation extended to him by the Nigerian Police.
Naija News recalls Dr. Mailafia was summoned by the Police last week and was expected to appear at the Abuja headquarters office of the Nigerian Police on Monday by 11am.
According to the letter marked confidential, and titled ‘Re: Investigation Activities, Police Investigation’, the 2019 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress is expected to report at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja based on a criminal investigation in which his name featured prominently.
This online medium further recalls the Department of State Services (DSS) had also interrogated Mailafia at its Jos office over some statements credited to him on the leadership of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria.
Mailafia had during a radio interview programme, alleged that a sitting northern governor is a Boko Haram commander.
However, according to a report monitored on AIT by this reporter on Monday, Mailafia has filed an action in court; challenging his invitation by the Police.
