INEC To Redesign Election Process Due COVID-19

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that as part of efforts to comply with the COVID-19 protocols established by health authorities, its Polling Units would be redesigned by the commission.

This the commission stated, while explaining that the move was in a bid to ensure substantial compliance with the COVID-19 protocols established by health authorities,  amongst many other things.

Buhari Nullifies Appointment Approved By Late Abba Kyari

President Muhammadu Buhari may have directed his new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari to cancel all appointments and approvals made by the late Chief of staff Abba Kyari without his permission, The Guardian report claims.

According to the report released by the Guardian Newspaper, no reason was given for the President’s action, however, reports indicated that no less than 150 memos without the President’s authorization may have been uncovered. The Nigerian presidency has also  refused to react to the report

NCDC Reports 229 New Cases Of Coronavirus

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed two hundred and twenty-nine new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

The NCDC on confirmed the new cases on its official Twitter account on Monday night at about 11:36 pm. This brings the total number of Coronavirus cases in the country to 8068.

Nyesom Wike Makes Massive Move To Compensate Victims Of 2019 Election Crisis

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has fulfilled the.promise he made to victims of the crisis during 2019 Presidential election in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local government area of the state.

Gov. Wike, who was represented by Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government, gave out a sum of N450 million, while explaining that the move was in fulfilment of his promise to the people of Abonnema at the Church service to honour those who lost their lives, the injured and those who lost properties during the crisis.
