1. Presidency Lists Actions Taken By President Buhari Against Coronavirus

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has released a list of what the President has done so far on the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

The list pointed to the statement of the president during the live broadcast on Sunday where he stated that “In Nigeria’s fight against COVID-19, there is no such thing as an overreaction or under-reaction. It is all about the right reaction by the right agencies and trained experts.”

2. Coronavirus: Nigeria Records 23 New Cases As Confirmed COVID-19 Cases Jumps To 174

Twenty-three new cases of Coronavirus has been confirmed on Wednesday in Nigeria by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

According to the NCDC in a post on their official Twitter account, the cases were recorded in Lagos, FCT, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna and Bauchi State.

3. Boko Haram: Abubakar Shekau Sends Strong Message To Military Authorities

The factional leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau has reacted to the recent renewed military onslaught against the terrorists.

Shekau noted that though the military troops have had the upper hand against his men in recent outings, the war is not over.

4. COVID-19: Federal Government Approves Release Of 70,000MT Of Grains

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of 70,000 metric tonnes of grains to Nigerians affected by the restrictive measures put in place by the federal government to contain Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

The presidency announced the release in a tweet on Wednesday.

5. Nnamdi Kanu Reacts As Lagos Govt Denies Knowing Abba Kyari’s Whereabouts

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the report that the Lagos State Government does not know the whereabouts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

The Commissioner of Health of Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, had on Tuesday noted that he has no information on the whereabouts of Abba Kyari.

6. COVID-19: El-Rufai Led Government Relaxes Curfew For Kaduna Residents

The Kaduna State Government has reviewed the restriction of movements directive in the state beginning from today, Wednesday.

The government said residents would be allowed to move about from 3pm Wednesday to 12 midnight, to stock food and other essentials.

7. COVID-19: Federal Government Gives Stipend To Over One Million Poor Nigerians

The Federal Government has begun the disbursement of N20,000 conditional cash transfer to indigent households (poor) at the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to help reduce the effect of President Muhammadu’s lockdown order following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

8. 57 People Rescued From Illegal Rehabilitation Center In Zamfara State

57 inmates were on Monday rescued by the Zamfara State Government from an illegal rehabilitation centre in Gusau, the state capital.

They were rescued from a house which serves as the rehabilitation center operated by one Malam Iliyasu Abdullahi Gamagiwa.

9. Coronavirus: Countries We Can Ask For Help From Are Facing Difficulties – FG

The federal government has admitted that Countries they would have looked up to in this difficult times are also facing challenges.

This was made known yesterday during a press conference in Abuja by Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs.

10. Coronavirus: UEFA Confirms Indefinite Suspension Of Champions League, Europa League, Others

The European football governing body, Union of European Football Association (UEFA) has confirmed the indefinite suspension of this season’s Champions League and Europa League and other European competitions including qualifiers until further notice.

UEFA confirmed in a statement on its official website on Wednesday that all games have been postponed till further notice as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaging the world.
